Airport Commission

Description: Lakeland Airport is co-owned and operated by an inter-governmental agreement between four towns (Minocqua, Arbor Vitae, Lac du Flambeau and Woodruff). The five-member Airport Commission is comprised of at least one member from each town.

Bear Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District

Description: Bear Lake is located within the towns of both Minocqua & Hazelhurst. Property owners seeking to protect water quality, fish populations and shorelands created the district in 1976 in accordance with State Law. An additional tax is levied upon property owners within the district to fund its operations. Five-member committee is comprised of property owners and one member of the Minocqua Town Board and one member of the Oneida County Board.

Library Committee

Description: Seven-member committee that prepares the library budget, approves bills and oversees operations for the Minocqua Public Library.

Parks & Recreation Committee

Description: Five-member committee formed to review existing uses of town park facilities, explore potential new uses of town park facilities or other public property within the township and make recommendations to the Town Board.

Plan Commission

Description: Seven-member committee charged with reviewing and planning for the orderly growth and development of the Town of Minocqua. In light of the town's uniqueness and high property values, an emphasis is placed on appearance and responsible development. The Plan Commission makes recommendations to the Town Board.

Regular Meetings: 2nd and Last Tuesday of each month at 8:30 A.M., Minocqua Center Board Room (3rd Floor).

Police Committee

Description: The committee will hear and review extraordinary issues or complaints related to the Minocqua Police Department and make recommendations to the Town Board. Assembles when directed by the Town Board.

Room Tax Committee

Description: Committee assigned to monitor and enforce collection of room tax by area accommodations.

Minocqua Members: Dick Heil, Jim Heller


Sanitary Commission

Description: Lakeland Sanitary District #1 provides sewer and water service to certain developed areas within the towns of Minocqua, Woodruff and Arbor Vitae. The three-person commission sets fees, prepares a budget and oversees operations for the sanitary district.

Torpy Park Beautification Committee

Description: The committee is comprised of a group of volunteers who conduct fundraisers and seek donations for the improvement of Torpy Park, located in downtown Minocqua. The committee is currently seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering their time and talents to its projects. Contact Heather Van Hefty at 715-358-2372.

Town Board of Supervisors

Description: The town's governing body, comprised of five elected officials (a full-time Chairman and four part-time Supervisors.) Regular Town Board meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Board Room (Third Floor) of the Minocqua Community Center.

Regular Meetings: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M., Minocqua Center Board Room (3rd Floor).
